Which Union Fits the Connection?
Start with the connection type, nominal size, and required working pressure. Figure 1002 is available through 5 inches and up to 10,000 PSI standard-service working pressure, including a derated 7,500 PSI detachable configuration. Figure 1502 is available in 2- and 3-inch sizes up to 15,000 PSI standard-service working pressure. Mud Pit Unions are carbon-steel O-ring seal connections for drilling mud tanks and piping in 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-inch sizes. The figure number, pressure class, end configuration, and service material must match the connected equipment.
